When the weather turns colder, we tend to spend less time outside and exercise less. This has a huge impact on our immune system. If you don’t step up your game, you will be more likely to face unexpected illnesses and infections. Give your immune system a TLC and improve your digestion by detoxing your system, and you will be ready for the challenges of the colder weather.

New Fitness Routine

When the summer is over, you might be thinking that sitting on the sofa curling up with your favorite Netflix series is acceptable. However, you need to know that your healthy mind and body come hand in hand. You will have to switch from your walks and outdoor sports to yoga or other exercises you can do indoors. Start your day with a HIIT routine, and you will be ready for the challenges ahead.

Self Care

You also have to make sure that you look after your body and your mind. Go for a facial and book a spa day once every few weeks. This will help you improve your well being and release hormones that will improve the efficiency of your immune system. If you feel down, find something you enjoy doing; curl up with a book, complete a jigsaw, or book a ski trip in the mountains, to have something to look forward to.

Starting with Water and Fiber
You might also want to change your breakfast and morning routine. Instead of filling up with fried food, start with water and fruit juice. You can also make a smoothie of celery and avocado, or try the latest detox water for flat belly Don’t have anything that contains too much carbohydrates or processed sugar until you had your fiber and water and completed your morning exercise routine.

Sauna

A good way of getting warm and supporting your immune system is going to the sauna. Don’t just simply sit there, though. Alternate cold showers, swimming, and steaming for a couple of hours to detoxify your body and boost your immune system. Sauna can also help you boost your skin defense system,  fight acne, and look younger. You can get rid of pollution and bacteria hiding deep under your skin inside your pores.

Organic Seasonal Food

You might think that there’s a lack of seasonal produce after the summer is over, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Avocados contain some essential oils that help your immune system fight inflammation and infections. Butternut squash and other vegetables have loads of healthy vitamins and minerals your body needs to function effectively. Visit your local farmers’ market and shop for seasonal, fresh, organic produce.

When the days get shorter and the sun is hiding we often feel like there’s not much we can do to improve our health and immune system. Get creative, change your diet according to the season, and take on new forms of exercise you can carry on doing all through the fall and winter.
