Wake Up! (raising awareness with Walgreens for chronic illness.)

(I received this product for review, but all opinions are my own.

Hi friends!
Have you ever had to watch someone you love suffer? Someone close to your heart? Watching them suffer and there's absolutely nothing you can do to help? A family member, friend, co-worker? No matter who or what the situation is watching a loved one suffer is never any fun. Today I am proud to team up with Walgreens to speak up and talk about chronic illness, medications, and what you can do to help the ones you love.

This post is very dear to me because not only does someone I know suffer from a chronic illness, but someone extremely near and dear to my heart, my mother. My mother has suffered from chronic headaches for as long as I can remember. Some days are better than others, someday arent. Some days are easy, some hard. Some days it's like she doesn't even have the illness like it doesn't exist. Other days it's like a dark cloud over her head all day. My mother is the strongest person I know so watching her suffer I knew the pain must have been unbearable.

Teaming up with Walgreens to be able to use my voice and platform to talk about chronic illness made me very happy. Because rather I was buying her a little pick me up snack for those hard days, grabbing a few cosmetic items to help her feel more beautiful or picking up my mother's medication, Walgreens has always been there for us. My mother is lucky to be able to have someone to help her out when it comes to her medications for her, unfortunately, that's not always the case for others. Did you know that taking medications as prescribed by your doctor and on time helps you feel better and reach better health outcomes? Well unfortunately 33% of those medications are never filled and nearly 100 million Americans either don't follow their medication requirements correctly due to lack of medication education, inconvenience or forgetfulness. Well, now Walgreens is doing more to help with the Walgreens app.

The Walgreens app provides app users with tools to help ensure that they don't ever miss a day's medication again. With some many amazing features on the app users are set up with the help they need to stay on top of taking their medications. So what does the app have to offer? Well for starters the app offers what is called a "pill reminder". What this is, is an alert reminder that keeps you on track for when it's time to take your medication. Because creating a routine for taking mediation is very important. The app also has another cool feature called "Walgreens Express TM". Walgreens Express TM is a service that helps out with refills. Saving users a trip to the store and more time to relax. One of the best thing about the app is the pharmacy chat. Got a question about your medications at 3:00 AM? Walgreen's has you covered with 24/7 pharmacy chat to help. Pretty convenient right? With so many great features on the app, users will never be alone in this fight against their chronic illness. If you or someone you know is interested in the app I would always advise to speak to a local pharmacist or doctor. Remember it's most important to always follow what your doctor prescribes.

Chronic illnesses aren't often talked about so raising awareness about them was very important to me as not only a blogger but a daughter. I encourage everyone to download the app. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I hope you share this post and the Walgreens app with the ones you love. Most importantly I hope they find solemn in their hearts.

I love you, mom!
